Q-Collar Week in Review (5/6/24) - Q30

This week was an exciting week for athletes wearing the Q-Collar. Check out some highlights below.


NCAA Men’s Lacrosse

  • Notre Dame Attackman Pat Kavanagh helped lead the Fighting Irish to another ACC Championship title with 3 goals, including this one, and 3 assists across 2 games - a 18-9 win over UVA and 16-6 win over Duke. Notre Dame is ranked as a #1 seed going into the NCAA Tournament.
  • Duke Attackman Brennan O’Neill had 6 points from 4 goals and 2 assists in Duke’s 18-13 win over Syracuse in the ACC Tournament Semifinals. The Blue Devils lost to Notre Dame in the finals where O’Neill was held to just 1 goal in the loss. That goal, however, was O’Neill’s 300th career point making him the 4th Blue Devil and 22nd player in Division I history to hit the milestone. Duke is ranked as a #2 seed in the NCAA Tournament and will face Utah in the first round.
  • Princeton won their second consecutive Ivy League Title this week! Attackmen Colin Burns and Nate Kabiri had 2 goals and 4 assists respectively in Princeton’s 14-10 win over Yale in the Ivy League Semifinals. The two had 3 goals and 4 assists respectively to help lift Princeton over Penn in their 18-11 win in the Championship. Princeton will face #7 Maryland in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
  • University of Albany Attackman Ryan Doherty put up numbers in the Great Danes’ 2 games in the America East Tournament. Doherty scored 5 goals and had 1 assist in the Danes’ 18-7 win over Merrimack and 1 goal in the 12-11 win over Vermont in the America East Finals. Doherty’s teammate Silas Richmond has 4 goals and 4 assists and 4 goals and 1 assist in the two games, respectively. Albany will host Sacred Heart in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
  • Utah Attackman Ryan Stines recorded 2 goals and 2 assists in the Utes’ 21-5 win over Cleveland State, and he notched 5 goals in the 16-13 win over Jacksonville in the ASUN Championship! Utah will play Duke in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

MLS

  • San Jose Earthquakes Attacker Jeremy Ebobisse started and played 78 minutes of the Earthquakes’ 3-1 win over LAFC.

NWSL

  • Angel City FC defender Megan Reid and midfielder Rocky Rodriguez started and played all 90 minutes in Angel City’s 2-1 win over the Utah Royals.
  • Bay FC defender Emily Menges subbed in and played 34 minutes in the Bay’s 2-1 loss to the Chicago Red Stars.

MiLB

  • Durham Bulls (Tampa Bay Rays AAA Affiliate) Catcher Logan Driscoll went 1 for 5 in the 2 games he played this week, both against the Gwinnett Stripers (Atlanta Braves AAA Affiliate).
